Description

Sedum x Orostachys Sunsparkler® 'Blue Elf' is the world's first Sedum x Orostachys hybrid and represents a breakthrough in grafting, as two genera have been crossed with each other. 'Blue Elf' has the positive characteristics of both parents: The steel-blue rosettes and numerous side branches of the Orostachys genus, the clustered tight dark pink flowers of the Sedum genus. As an added bonus, 'Blue Elf' also has slightly fragrant flowers. Thanks to its compact habit, the plant is ideal for rock gardens, as a ground cover or as a specimen for the balcony or in a container. The height is 10 cm and the width 30 cm. This low plant with its succulent, bluish-purple leaves is not only an extraordinary ornamental foliage plant in sunny, dry spots in the garden. Its purple-colored flowers, which begin to open at the end of August, also provide sought-after, late food for bees.
