The avocado (Persea americana) is an evergreen tree from the tropical and subtropical regions of Central and South America. It prefers warm temperatures, well-drained soil and plenty of sunlight. The plant produces small, hermaphrodite flowers that often require a second plant for pollination. Its fruits are known for their high content of healthy fats. Avocados require regular watering, but without waterlogging. They are sensitive to frost and thrive best in regions with temperatures between 20 and 25 °C.
F1 Hybrid
Not frost resistant
Avocados need a sunny, warm location with temperatures between 20-25 °C. The soil should be well-drained and slightly acidic (pH 6-6.5) to avoid waterlogging. Water regularly, but only when the top layer of soil is dry. Make sure to protect the plant from frost. During the growing season, the avocado should be regularly fed with nitrogen-rich fertilizer. As the plant grows, you should repot it to create enough space for the roots. Regular pruning promotes compact and bushy growth.
