In Germany, the Hauszwetschge is the most widely cultivated and one of the oldest plum varieties. It is a traditional variety that has been prized for centuries for its versatility, high yield and intense flavor. Domestic plums are suitable for fresh consumption as well as for processing into jams, compotes, cakes or schnapps. This variety is relatively robust and hardy and can be planted in a variety of locations. The variety is resistant to many typical diseases such as Scharka disease, but can sometimes be affected by MOnilia fruit rot or aphids. Therefore, pay attention to good care and preventive plant protection.
Non hybrid

This plum variety can thrive in sunny to semi-shady locations, but the soil should be well-drained. It reacts sensitively to waterlogging.
