The origin of the name miracle flower probably comes from the fact that it can bear flowers with a wide variety of colors at the same time. With variegated yellow, pink, red, white or often bicolored flowers, the miracle flower provides a continuous play of colors throughout the summer and into the fall. At the tips of the shoots, the inflorescences form about 3 to 7 flowers throughout the growing season. Due to the fact that the fragrant flowers open only around late afternoon and then close or fade away by dawn, the miracle flower is also called "four o'clock" flower in English-speaking countries. The flowers that fade during the night are constantly replaced by new ones, so that the pile continues uninterruptedly.
