Description

People who have experienced the effect of the herb on their own bodies agree: the herb of immortality is better than ginseng! It has been used for centuries in China as a tea from fresh leaves. Science became aware of Jiaogulan, as it is still called, because in the Chinese province of Guizhou the percentage of people over 100 years old is far above the population average. This is attributed to the regular consumption of this tea. The taste is reminiscent of ginseng and comes from the active components of the plant, gypenosides and ginsenosides.

Growing tips

The herb of immortality is perennial and is considered hardy to about - 15 °C, with the leaves freezing back above ground. The herb of immortality resprouts in the spring from the root runners deep in the ground. The herb of immortality can be ideally led up a trellis or used decoratively as a hanging plant.
