The white beet "Avalanche" is the low-color variant of beetroot. A specialty with round, white beets and a very good, mild taste. "Avalanche should always be eaten raw, as this is the best way to enjoy its sweet, mild flavor. Baby beets and the young leaves are particularly popular. (also often found in colorful mixtures)
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Place the seeds in a 1-2 cm deep groove, cover lightly with soil, press down and water evenly. The soil should be humus-rich, moist and loose. Water and hoe regularly. Germination at 10-20°C in 12-20 days. One ball contains approx. 3 seeds. When these germinate and young plants grow, leave the strongest plant and remove/shift the rest. In contrast to the cultivation of ordinary beetroot, a short cultivation period is recommended. White beetroot is harvested very young (approx. at a diameter of 3-4 cm) so that the beetroot is still tender and juicy - the so-called baby beetroot. If the beets are harvested when they are large or fully grown (approx. 70 days), then cook or preserve them like normal beet.
