The Appleblossom cowslip (also known as Primula japonica 'Appleblossom') is one of the most wonderful plants for the garden. Its flowers are fine and pink, and several specimens combine to form a tight network. This gives the gardener a bright carpet of soft pink and light green. The red eyes provide a great splash of color. The egg-shaped leaves form a tight cluster and the flowers, which are gathered together in balls, nestle against each other. To create a dense bed, you should place at least 9 individual plants together so that the plants form a dense square. If you put fewer plants together, you will end up with holes that can only be closed by repositioning the plants. They are also very considerate of other plants.
Non hybrid
Frostproof
With a size of 30 cm to 50 cm, they fit in visually with many other flower varieties and stand out pleasantly with their beauty rather than unpleasantly with their size. At 30 cm to 40 cm, the growth width is impressive enough to stand out but small enough to allow other plants to come into their own. Appleblossom' needs moist soil, which is why it is particularly suitable for planting around the edges of ponds and other damp areas. It thrives in all light conditions from sunny to semi-shady to shady. This perennial also survives the winter without any problems. Another positive point for this plant is its compatibility. It can easily be planted together with other perennials.
