Description

Primrose is a very decorative flowering meadow flower and at the same time the most medicinally effective species among the primrose family. Primula veris, unlike some of its relatives, is not poisonous and is used in the form of tea preparations as a medicinal plant for colds and gout. It is also a well-known remedy as an ingredient in cough syrup.

Growing tips

The seeds are best sown thinly on the spot or in seed trays right in the fall. They need the cold to germinate and thus belong to the cold germinators. The horsty growing plants need a planting distance of about 25 cm. They self-seed well and are thus excellent for wilding.
