A climbing plant originally from Asia. Kiwi 'Jenny' / 'Yennie' is self-fruiting and combines both male and female flowers on one plant. Thus, it does not require a second pollinator plant to produce its kiwifruit. However, another male or also hermaphrodite from another cultivar will increase the yield. The (bot.) Actinidia deliciosa 'Jenny' / 'Yennie' is vigorous in growth (2 - 5 meters, Growth rate: 60 -80 cm per year, climbing aid required) and hardy to - 20°. It develops delicate cream-colored flowers that appear in May and June. Fruits are ready for harvest from mid-October until November. The plant prefers a sunny and protected location. (Shallow rooter) The soil should be well-drained and rich in humus, no waterlogging. It bears after about two to three years.
