Growing tips

Possibly low nitrogen deep soil in a sunny location (If the nitrogen content of the soil is too high, beets will form too large and will only form loose heads when sprouting). Germination after approx. 1 week at approx. 16°C. Harvest beets from the end of Octoberber with optimal beet diameter of 3-5cm, remove leaves, leave only heart (2cm). Pile up the roots for storage in a cool room and protect them from drying out (min. 1 week, you can keep the roots cool until you want to drive them). Forcing with cover soil from the end of November to March: place the roots in a container about 30-40 cm deep, cover with moist sand or soil (10cm) and leave to forge in a dark room (important for tender shoots with little bitterness) at about 15-20°C for 3-5 weeks.
