Banana Legs is one of the old tomato varieties and is a bushy plant that grows to a height of approx. 60-100 cm. The harvest is nevertheless very abundant and long-lasting. Its yellow, light yellow striped fruits are similar in shape to a banana (bottle tomato) and grow up to 10 cm long and weigh up to 100 g. They also have a pleasant sweetness. They also have a pleasant sweetness with a fresh, spicy flavor (which they only develop under plenty of sunlight), few seeds and ripen very well. Cut-resistant and rather floury flesh.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
The optimum germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C and germination takes place after 8 - 14 days. Plant out the pre-grown plants only after the last frost. Banana Legs prefers a sunny, warm location in a greenhouse or sheltered outdoor area, but can also be easily grown in a container on a covered balcony/terrace (as it grows small). Banana Legs grows very well in pots of around 20-30 cm or in raised beds. As a bush tomato, it should not be thinned out at all. It is recommended to remove the first lower flowers so that the fruits do not touch the ground. Ripe fruits are shed by the plant itself.
