Description

The fresh leaves before flowering are the best and most aromatic. The whole plant is non-toxic. Only when young can it be confused with ground ivy or lesser celandine, both of which are edible. The intense garlic smell when rubbing the leaves clearly identifies rocket. It is a member of the cruciferous family and is related to herbs such as field mustard, shepherd's purse and barbara.
