The daisy is a perennial, herbaceous plant that usually grows to a height of 4 to 15 centimetres. There are fibrous roots on the short, upright rhizome. The leaves, which stand together in a dense rosette, are divided into petiole and leaf blade. The winged leaf stalk is at least as long as the leaf blade. The simple leaf blade has only one central vein, is spatulate to obovate, 6 to 40 millimetres long and 4 to 20 millimetres wide.
