Description

This low, multi-flowered wild tulip grows loosely and forms very attractive cushions over time. Three to eight white, star-shaped flowers with a bright yellow center contrast beautifully with the glossy, pure green foliage. The greenish-grey outer sides of the flowers have a purple tinge, which gives the half-open flowers in particular a delicate charm. The closed brownish buds with a purple overflow are barely noticeable. In the sun, however, the white flowers open in a star shape and reveal their bright yellow center. Tulipa tarda is undemanding, long and rich-flowering and very suitable for growing wild! This wild tulip is popular with bees and exudes a strong, tart but pleasant fragrance. This late tulip from the high mountains of Central Asia is ideal for sunny open spaces, rock gardens, borders or alpine meadows. Winter hardiness: -28.8 to -23.4 °C
